Opis

In celebration of Independence Day, as part of the 32nd IUBILAEI CANTUS Sądecki Music Festival, we invite you to a performance by the Marek Probosz Theatre entitled "Performance in Four Acts." The event will take place on Wednesday, November 11th, at 6:00 PM in the Lucjan Lipiński Auditorium of the SOKÓŁ Małopolska Cultural Center.

The key protagonists of this four-act monodrama are the architects of Polish freedom: Juliusz Słowacki; Blessed Father Jerzy Popiełuszko; Ignacy Paderewski; and Cyprian Norwid. The play combines Polish history, the poetry of Romanticism, the music of masters, and the words of spiritual leaders in a minimalist, contemporary style. Monologues, homilies, and speeches interwoven with aural reality, created by a duet between actor and pianist, pulsate with emotion and the wisdom of thought, captivating the audience with the treasure trove of the Polish language, national affairs, and artistic endeavors. This performance is a volcano of imagination, an extraordinary encounter with the radical truth of immortal poets who were ahead of their time. From the partitions, through World War I, to Solidarity and martial law. They gave meaning to suffering, resurrected hope in moral victory and freedom. They breathed love of homeland, honor, courage and beauty into the Polish and world consciousness: "Because beauty is meant to delight . To work – work, so that it may be resurrected." – CK Norwid After the performance, we invite Marek Probosz to a meeting with the audience.
