The Sądecka Public Library invites you to participate in a unique workshop during which, together with host Daniel Lachor, we will embark on a journey through the Sądecczyzna region – from the 17th to the 20th century . This will be a journey into the past, during which we will examine the region as a meeting place for diverse people, cultures, traditions, and everyday stories. Archival photographs will serve as our guide. We'll pause for a moment to examine old photographs, searching for the stories hidden within. We'll examine people, places, costumes, objects, and landscapes, trying to decipher what old photographs tell us about the lives of the inhabitants of the Nowy Sącz region.

Photographs will be the beginning of our creative journey. We will combine them with fabrics, patterns, colors, drawings, and various artistic materials. Selected images will transcend their confines, and we will attempt to reveal what is not visible within the frame—creating our own vision of the ancient world and retelling its history.Together we will also create small spatial models and compositions inspired by old architecture, interiors, landscapes, costumes and objects captured in photographs. The workshop will result in a unique, intergenerational album – an artistic mosaic of the Nowy Sącz region, composed of old photographs, paintings, fabrics, colors, objects, and stories. It will be our collective attempt to look at the past not only through the eyes of historians, but also through imagination and creative interpretation. The workshops will be held on October 17 this year (Saturday) from 1st to 2:30 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. in the historic library basements (ul. Franciszkańska 11, level -1).REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED: –promocja@sbp.nowysacz.pl – 18 443-87-52 ext. 29
