ABOUT THE SHOW: The creative agony of God, who created the world; the shepherds journeying to Bethlehem via Wieliczka and Skalmierz; Herod trying to bribe death with positions in his administration… All these are folk representations of sacred history straight from old Polish nativity plays. Often considered naive or even primitive, they are surprisingly accurate and true, and are a testament to the thoughts and spirit of our ancestors – their piety and frivolity, their inner fervor and common sense, their seriousness and wit. Where do the sacred and the profane mingle with such grace? Only in nativity plays!

The Polish Classics Theatre invites you to join us in singing carols, immersing yourself in the atmosphere of Polish holidays, sharing laughter, and reflecting on the state of our community. The musical accompaniment is provided by the outstanding instrumentalist Maria Pomianowska.

Director: Jerzy Machowski Theatre, opera, radio, and television director. Winner of the "Don Quixote" award for directing debut at the Polish Radio Theatre (2018). He debuted with "Niezwykły lotem pilot Pirxa" (The Extraordinary Flight of Pilot Pirx) based on St. Lem at the Municipal Theatre in Gliwice (2017). He has also collaborated with the Witkacy New Theatre in Słupsk, the Dorman Theatre in Będzin, the J. Osterwa Theatre in Lublin, and the Jewish Theatre in Warsaw, among others.
